Welcome

MacIver Clan CrestThe MacIver Clan originated from the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. They are one of the smaller Clans, and of those there, the few who forged a new life in North America, resulted in small numbers of this blood line living on our Island.

Edward Gordon MacIver, was the youngest male of 13 children. The oldest child, a male, John Charles MacIver died in active Battle at Vimy Ridge, France 1914, at the age of 16 and was buried there with his fallen comrades. The next oldest son, Angus MacIver, was on a ship leaving the United States in WW II, which was bombed, leaving no survivors. Angus was never married. The other male Willie, had all girls. E. Gordon MacIver had one son, Gordon Grant MacIver. He married Linda (nee MacDonald) MacIver, and they are childless.

There is one other MacIver family on the Island, cousins to E. Gordon MacIver, and they too have run to the end of their blood line.

The MacIver family Genealogy may not have as many families in it, but it is steeped in immensely interesting stories, and produced males and females alike, who are/were leaders in their Community.

This web site was developed to share the MacIver Family History as well as Genealogy.

We will share Clan tartans, Origins and Folklore as well as many inspiring facts.

The Genealogy will be shared in the Blog area of this site, presenting one generation at a time. It will commence with Edward Gordon Mac Iver's family, his wife and son and include his siblings and parents.

We hope you enjoy our offerings and stories, as much as we did preparing it with great pride.
